Work Hours: up to 19 Hours per week.
Hourly Rate: $20-$25/hr.
The Active Adults Line Dance Instructor's schedule is held on Thursdays from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Active Adult Coordinator, the Active Adult Line Dance Instructor is responsible for planning, teaching, and supervising line dancing classes for the Active Adult population (55 and better) and Senior Club for the Addison Park District.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Employees must plan, organize, implement, and oversee the Active Adult Line Dance class.
- Employees must maintain and foster excellent customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction and feedback on the Active Adults Line Dance program.
- Employees must promote, organize, and maintain great relationships with staff, patrons, community, community leaders, other agencies, and interest groups serving the area.
- Employee must perform all duties and functions following the Addison Park District's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to provide a quality line dancing class to our Active Adult program participants.
Secondary Duties & Responsibilities
- Employee must have initiative, persistence, creativity, and the ability to inspire our Active Adult line dance participants.
- Employee must proactively work with the Active Adult Coordinator to promote our Active Adult Line Dance classes.
- Employee must have the capacity to utilize time management skills and be able to plan and teach each Active Adult Line Dance class within one hour.
- Employee must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting positive work relations with both internal and external customers and other departments of the Park District.
- Employee must have the ability to communicate within various settings, from one-on-one to group configurations.
Cognitive Considerations
- Employee must be able to follow directions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Employee must have the ability to read and understand materials in English; such as, but not limited to rules and regulation books, manuals and schedules.
- Employee must be able to make decisions objectively based on customer service standards, data, and fiscal constraint.
Required Qualifications
- Employee must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in teaching dance.
- Employee must be First Aid, Adult CPR/AED certified or can obtain within 6 months.
- Employee must have a valid Driver's License.
- Employee must be 18 years or older.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Employee must operate and handle assigned equipment.
- Employee must have physical agility to maintain mobility and perform moderate manual tasks.
- Employee may perform duties which include, but are not limited to prolong lifting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, and climbing for extended periods of time.
