Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance to join a FTSE listed business based in West London. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone to manage a large team (10-15 people) and implement process improvement and efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
Lead the accounting function, developing a high performing, engaged team of accounting professionals.
Develop effectiveness of the team through targeted coaching, training and development.
Manage and ensure financial compliance, governance, and oversight of General Accounting for the UK & Ireland businesses.
Lead the consistent and timely delivery of the month end close and, improve the periodic financial close and internal control process, for the UK and Ireland businesses.
Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of General Accounting transactions; ensure Key Controls are in place and operating effectively.
Maintain and enhance the Balance Sheet Reconciliation programme to assure the integrity of key accounts.
Co-ordinate and liaise with external and internal auditors as the primary contact and plan, organise and coordinate the year-end close and audit process with them.
Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide a high level of customer service to business partners (internally & externally).
Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency of existing processes and systems; develop the road map for deployment in collaboration with the Technology & Transformation team.Requirements:
Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA Accountant with significant PQE experience.
This is a demanding position with significant internal visibility, which requires comprehensive understanding, resilience and tenacity.
Broad and sustained team management experience preferably in a Finance Shared Services environment.
Knowledge of the company's business model, operations and key business drivers and ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail, thoroughness, and a methodical approach to work.
A leader who can work both independently and collaboratively, and coach and develop a large professional team.
