Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a thriving pub restaurant located in Reading. This popular establishment offers a blend of traditional British pub classics and modern dishes, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce.

As the Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene are maintained. You will also work closely with management to develop and implement new menu ideas that reflect the restaurant's ethos and appeal to a diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service.
• Maintain high standards of food presentation and ensure dishes are delivered to specification.
• Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to ensure peak performance.
• Control stock levels, ordering, and minimize wastage to maximize profitability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
• Develop creative and seasonal menu options that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
• Work closely with management to maintain cost controls and ensure the financial success of the kitchen.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy pub or restaurant environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
• A passion for delivering high-quality food and a flair for menu development.
• Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
