Permanent / Full Time
Location – Proserpine
$99,978.80 to $106,334.99 per annum
The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Coordinator Treatment Operations to join our team and help keep the Whitsunday Region flowing smoothly! In this exciting role, you’ll be responsible for our Water and Wastewater treatment plants, ensuring that we deliver safe, clean drinking water and manage wastewater like a pro. The Role
Plan, direct, and supervise the operations of water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency and Whitsunday Regional Councils Work Health & Safety policies
Coordinate tasks to maintain the operational performance and reliability of water and wastewater assets, following industry best practices.
Oversee maintenance activities, including sourcing equipment and services, while ensuring a clean and safe workplace compliant with Council policies.
Monitor and report on the condition of treatment assets and systems, investigating water and effluent quality as per operational management plans.
Manage staffing and operations of southern-based treatment plants to ensure compliance with ADWG and public health regulations, including emergency response as needed.
Utilise systems like SCADA to resolve process and equipment issues and maintain operational staff rosters and monthly reports.
Essential
C Class Manual Drivers Licence
Construction White Card
Certificate III or IV in Water Industry Operations (Water or Wastewater) or suitable relevant qualification
Desirable
Trade Qualified or relevant technical qualifications
