Job Description
About the position : As Product Manager on the team, you'll build our next generation of SaaS commerce tools and work closely with customers and engineers to build the right product in the right way. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of technology, UX / UI, market trends, and customer needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products that meet business objectives and drive customer satisfaction. The person in this role to help us discover and build our Storefront solution that retailers use to engage with and merchandise to customers. Additionally, you'll be responsible for identifying new product opportunities, defining product strategy, and driving the design process from ideation to launch. This role will operate in highly ambiguous environments and will need to be able to get to actionable insights quickly, make decisions and find valuable problems to solve for customers. You'll spend a lot of your time talking to customers, understanding their problems, and validating that your solutions solve a real problem for them. You will also hold the team accountable for building the right thing by setting goals, measuring success, and sharing learnings. As the main point of contact for internal & external stakeholders on the parts of the product you own, by the end of your first 90 days you'll be expected to be an expert on Maropost's customers and their needs. What you'll be responsible for : - Develop a keen understanding of current e-commerce admin panels (back office) in the market (Wix, Shopify, Magento, VTEX, BigCommerce) and identify ways differentiate and scale beyond the capabilities of these solutions. - Develop deep knowledge of company's customers and of shopping experiences they wish to create. - Support decisions with an effective balance on of data and empathy-driven product intuition. - Get buy-in from stakeholders and customers around your solutions and build a sense of excitement and anticipation for every new product release. - Define clear outcomes and understand how to shift priorities, plans and stakeholder expectations to achieve goals. - Understand the product-development process and continually find ways to make your team members more efficient and customer centric. - Clearly define success metrics for individual roadmap projects that map to strategic company goals. - Coordinate with other product managers and designers to ensure the cohesiveness of the overall user experience. - Understand how various sorts of technology (JS, CSS, etc.) can be used by our customers to create unparalleled shopping experiences for their customers and used by our partners to build the same for their clients. - Come into the role with a rich understanding of (or be willing to ramp up quickly on) the e-commerce platform ecosystem and e-commerce industry. What you'll bring to Maropost : - Bachelor's degree in a field that requires analytical thinking and intellectual curiosity. While Computer Science, Information Technology, and Business Administration degrees are appreciated, students of the humanities or other fields are also highly considered. - 5 years product management experience, building and shipping e-commerce or direct-to-consumer successful products and features. - 2 years of experience in ecommerce, retail, marketplace, or merchandising. - Project Management Skills : Ability to plan, set expectations, make, and meet commitments; provide structure, process, and project management to cross-functional teams. - Deeply knowledgeable about Storefront Builders and Shopping Cart Solutions. - Deep understanding of the Payments side of eCommerce. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, team structure. - Strong knowledge of HTML & CSS. - Solid understanding of Inventory Management and Order Fulfillment. Nice to have : - Knowledge of Tax Rules (origin base vs destination base tax settings) - Familiarity with Webhooks and APIs - Familiarity with Domain Management (DNS settings, URL Masking, URL Forwarding) - Responsive Design (Mobile Friendly Design) - Awareness of Marty Cagan's philosophy of empowered teams and customer-centric roadmap validation and delivery (ref:hirist.tech)
