Ship Chandling Manager

Hire Resolve's Client is seeking a skilled Ship Chandling Manager to join a leading logistics company based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will oversee the ship chandler operations, ensuring the efficient supply of provisions, stores, and services to vessels in port. Responsibilities Manage and enhance the ship chandling operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery to vessels. Coordinate with various departments to meet the needs of ships, including procurement, logistics, and supply chain. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services are provided. Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock for effective operations. Oversee compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Manage a team of chandlers and provide training and support to ensure performance and development. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to ship chandling services. Prepare reports on operations, sales, and inventory for management. Requirements Proven experience as a Ship Chandling Manager or similar role in the maritime industry. Strong knowledge of ship chandling processes and inventory management. Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage a team effectively. Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. A degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
