Principal Data Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists in the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder.

The focus of this role is advancing techniques for AI agents that work alongside our customers, helping them further optimize their supply chain operations.

As a key player in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain and retail domains.

1. Lead and mentor a team of data scientists
2. Provide technical vision and prioritization for AI initiatives
3. Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams on roadmap and requirements
4. Design and implement AI solutions for supply chain optimization
5. Make critical decisions on data architecture and model selection
6. Integrate AI solutions with existing product platforms
7. Advance SOTA techniques for AI agents and generative AI products for customers
8. Conduct applied research in NLP, multi-modality, and reinforcement learning for supply chain
9. Apply the latest research and cutting-edge techniques to real-world problems
10. Identify and mitigate technical risks in AI implementations
11. Present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
12. Stay current with AI advancements, particularly in supply chain and retail domains

1. Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
2. 10+ years of industry experience in data science and machine learning
3. Proven track record of leading complex AI projects and solving business problems
4. Strong background in NLP, transformer, and LLM architectures
5. Extensive expertise in Python
6. Practical experience with LLMs, generative AI, and AI agent development
7. Ability to translate business problems into AI/data science solutions
8. Leadership experience in mentoring data scientists and ML engineers
9. Passion for innovation and staying at the forefront of AI advancements
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Knowledge of supply chain management concepts (bonus)
12. Track record of publications or patents in AI/ML (bonus)
