SAP BW Consultant - HANA Data Modeling & Development

As an Application Developer, you will design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing solutions that enhance business operations and drive efficiency. Roles & Responsibilities : - Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs. - Design and develop applications using SAP BW on HANA Data Modeling & Development. - Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure application functionality. - Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to team members. Professional & Technical Skills : - Must To Have Skills : Proficiency in SAP BW on HANA Data Modeling & Development. - Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques. - Experience in developing complex data models and data flows in SAP BW on HANA. - Knowledge of SAP HANA database and its integration with SAP BW. - Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SAP BW on HANA solutions. Additional Information : - The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP BW on HANA Data Modeling & Development. - This position is based at our Mumbai office. - A 15 years full time education is required. Key Responsibilities : Solution Design & Implementation : - Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and design end-to-end SAP BW solutions that address business needs. - Design, configure, and deploy SAP BW data models, including InfoProviders (Cubes, DSOs, CompositeProviders), transformations, and data flows. - Implement SAP BW on HANA (or BW/4HANA) to optimize performance and take advantage of in-memory processing capabilities. Data Integration & Modeling : - Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data extraction from various source systems (SAP and non-SAP). - Model data structures (e.g., InfoObjects, InfoCubes, DataStore Objects) to ensure efficient and scalable reporting. - Utilize SAP BW's advanced features (e.g., Open ODS Views, CompositeProviders, HANA Views) for building integrated data models. Data Quality & Transformation : - Ensure data accuracy and consistency by implementing data quality rules, transformation logic, and exception handling. - Perform data validation and testing to ensure data is loaded accurately into SAP BW and available for reporting and analysis. Reporting & Analytics : - Collaborate with SAP BI (Business Intelligence) consultants to deliver reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using tools like SAP Business Explorer (BEx), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or third-party BI tools. - Support business users in generating actionable insights and ad-hoc reporting from BW data. System Optimization & Performance Tuning : - Optimize SAP BW system performance by tuning data loads, queries, and reports. - Implement best practices for indexing, compression, and query optimization to ensure fast and efficient access to large datasets. - Perform regular health checks, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. Support & Troubleshooting : - Provide ongoing support to business users, troubleshoot data issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks. - Monitor data loads, job schedules, and troubleshoot failures in the ETL process. - Perform root cause analysis and recommend system improvements. Documentation & Training : - Document system configurations, data models, and reporting processes to ensure knowledge transfer and long-term supportability. - Train business users and IT teams on the use of SAP BW and related reporting tools. - Provide user training and post-implementation support to ensure the smooth adoption of the SAP BW solution. Continuous Improvement & Innovation : - Stay updated with new SAP BW/4HANA features, technologies, and best practices. - Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the SAP BW solution and ensure it remains aligned with evolving business needs. - Collaborate with other SAP consultants (e.g., SAP HANA, SAP BI) to integrate with other systems like SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud. Required Skills & Qualifications : Educational Requirements : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, or a related field. Experience : - At least 5 years of experience working with SAP BW (SAP Business Warehouse) or SAP BW/4HANA. - Proven experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting within SAP BW. - Hands-on experience with SAP BW on HANA (or BW/4HANA), including performance optimization and HANA-specific features. - Familiarity with integrating SAP BW with other SAP solutions (SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Data Services, etc.) is a plus. Technical Skills : - Strong knowledge of SAP BW architecture, InfoObjects, DataStore Objects (DSO), InfoCubes, CompositeProviders, and Open ODS Views. - Proficiency in SAP BW query design and performance tuning using SAP Business Explorer (BEx) or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). - Experience with SAP Data Services or other ETL tools for data extraction and transformation. - Familiarity with SAP HANA, HANA Views, and BW on HANA-specific optimization techniques. - Knowledge of SQL, ABAP (for custom developments), and other SAP tools related to data warehousing. Soft Skills : - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical business users. - Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. Desired Skills : - SAP BW/4HANA certification or other relevant SAP certifications. - Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). - Knowledge of other reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for integrated BI solutions. - Agile/Scrum experience in project delivery.
