Amazon Egypt is looking for a smart, enthusiastic, hard-working and self-driven Vendor Manager to join our retail business in Egypt. The Retail Vendor Manager is responsible for managing inputs, customer experience, topline performance, and ultimately, profitability for their category.
Within this role, the individual will have the opportunity to establish and maintain strong vendor partnerships, manage category profitability, and identify means to improve the customer experience. We are seeking a business leader with a broad skill-set which demonstrates analytical prowess, excellent business judgment, strong vendor management and negotiations skills, deep curiosity to uncover how things work, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience for our customers.
You will work with vendors of all sizes and must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at all levels of these organizations. Experience in business analytics, strategic thinking, negotiations, and operations are required. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility and commitment, and the ability to hire and develop a high-performing team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience.
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development.
- Knowledge of Excel and extracting data through varied reporting tools in order to drive and influence business decisions.
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.
- Experience with pricing and selection strategy.
- Excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Superior analytical abilities and quantitative skills. Comfortable with complex financial data.
- Polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating.
- High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment – figuring it out and adapting as you go.
- Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes.
- A willingness to roll up sleeves to get it done.
- Ability to think and lead in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience in e-commerce.
- Define strategies to deliver best-in-class customer experience while delivering profitable growth for the category.
- Establish relationships and negotiate agreements/deals with leading manufacturers and brands.
- Expand current vendor selection and secure new brand selection.
- Own the Retail P&L for multiple subcategories; develop plans that drive revenue and margin improvement for the business.
- Aggregate and escalate industry trends; ensure team prioritizes customer obsession.
- Identify opportunities to differentiate our customer experience from the competition.
- Increase vendor participation through deep knowledge of program opportunities.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure healthy inventory levels while managing stock-out/overstock risk.
- Collaborate with vendors and merchandising teams on promotions and marketing initiatives and coordinate with the Merchandising team to execute these activities.
- Create long-term category solutions that automate or simplify category processes.
