Job Description

You will join the Digital Energy division of Schneider Electric. Digital Energy focuses on providing systems, software and services that enable better operation, optimization, management and control across Building, Power and Microgrid applications in the electrical distribution networks.

It is also in charge of managing the Building Segment, driving the commercial execution and strategy for all the Schneider Electric solutions sold across Design Firms, Healthcare, Hotels, Retail chains, and Real Estate owners.

The Digital Energy Strategy team is a team of 6 individuals.

You will report directly to the Vice President of Digital Energy Strategy (based in Boston).

The Strategy of Digital Energy encompasses 5 main activities:

  1. Group strategy cycle: contribute to the strategy presentation of Digital Energy in the context of the Schneider Electric Group annual strategy cycle.
  2. Mergers & Acquisitions files: identify acquisitions & divestments, assess strategic rationale for deals and their adequacy to the Division strategy and the Schneider Group strategy, prepare investment memos for potential deals to be approved by the Group Acquisition Committee, support commercial due diligence efforts.
  3. Strategic Intelligence: bring an outside-in view to the Division by analyzing competition, market sizes, market shares, and managing the Annual Market Review process for the Division.
  4. Quarterly support: support the R&D strategy roadmap of the Division, support the Division quarterly business review preparation for the performance review with senior stakeholders.
  5. Ad-hoc projects: deliver strategy projects on transversal topics not naturally owned by any of the 3 lines of business (Digital Power, Digital Grid, Digital Building).

Your role:

The Digital Energy Strategy Manager is a key role within the Division and has a global remit. The Strategy Manager will be expected to help lead and execute key initiatives and projects that are vital to the success of the Division and the overall business.

The role is exposed to multiple stakeholders across the organization and various parts of the division and of the Schneider Electric business overall.

Your missions:

  1. Work with the Vice President of Digital Energy Strategy as well as the two other strategy managers to execute key initiatives and projects.
  2. Act as a key content lead and project lead for strategy studies.
  • Driving content, questions, analysis, story-telling, organization, cadence & pace.
  • Working hand-in-hand with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participating in projects scoping for internal or external work, guides for interviews and conducting interviews.
  • Coordinating various stakeholders to deliver findings within agreed timelines.
  • Formulating key conclusions.
Own key strategic transformation projects/initiatives.Apply business judgement and knowledge of Digital Energy solutions acquired over time, to devise feasible and actionable recommendations for profitable growth and transformation for Digital Energy.Preparing and present written and oral reports of findings to key stakeholders inside Digital Energy.Develop, manage and maintain excellent relationships within Digital Energy (Lines of Business, finance, commercial team, Building segment team) and the rest of Schneider Electric (Corporate Strategy and transversal strategy teams of other divisions) - at all levels of the organization - to ensure One Schneider approach.Supervise and coach more junior staff members when required.

Travel: limited but with potential to travel to locations including other Schneider Electric offices.

Your profile:

  1. 5+ years minimum of previous work experience, including:
  • Strategy or management consulting experience at tier-1 consulting firms or
  • Strategy at other corporates within the energy sector.
Experience and projects working in the energy industry is a pre requisite.Experience in private equity or other financial institutions is a plus.Experience in Digital transformation in B2B or B2C environments is a plus.Education: strong educational background (Master's degree), coursework in finance & strategy.

Your skills:

  1. Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English to impact at all levels of the organisation; Any other language is a plus.
  2. Other: excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills, and presentation writing skills, experience in project management tools a plus.
  1. Good business acumen and judgment.
  2. Strong organization and project management skills; structured way of working; ability to work under time pressure; Good attention to detail.
  3. Strong analytical skills: ability to screen and quickly absorb information on various topics from multiple sources and synthesize it to make meaningful recommendations.
  4. Financially literate: able to review and interpret financial statements/reports.
  5. Fast learning capacity and curiosity for learning about Schneider Electric Digital Energy businesses across Power, Grid, Building, and those of competitors, new business models and disruptors.
  6. Collaborative and a team player: driven but balanced, thoughtful and passionate about success of the collective team.
  7. International, multi-cultural mind-set and approach.
