About the business

This consultancy set up their UCD practice 18 months ago with the help of 2 key leaders in the Service Design space (you might know who they are already) and it's safe to say they've been smashing it!

Winning and retaining multiple new projects primarily in the public sector but also branching out into the private sector they're looking to grow their team with more Service Designers and User Researchers.

G.Digital has supported the growth of this team with 6 team members over the last 18 months who are all still there now and LOVING it.

About the role ‍‍

As a Senior Service Designer you’ll be working on any number of projects, typically in the public sector including places like:

• NHS Digital
• MOJ
• DWP
• Multiple high profile private sector clients (retail, finance etc)

You’ll be part of an agile team of software engineers, designers, user researchers, product managers, and other stakeholders and help the project team build a coherent service.

You’ll decide which service design activities are appropriate for the project. Activities could include: client workshops, service definitions, service blueprints, service concepts, customer journey mapping, business model canvas, rapid prototyping, ethnographic studies, creative brainstorming, and persona development.

On government projects, they use the GDS Service Standard as their north star, but you are skilled enough to know how to improve on the standard. You maintain the service design deliverables within a project such as service concepts, blueprints, and other service design artefacts.

What you need

• Strong background in delivering service design
• Government GDS experience is ideal but NOT a deal breaker
• Experience coaching and mentoring
• Be commutable from Leeds for socials and collaboration days
