Excellent Opportunity for a food science / food microbiology student to join a food manufacturer in the Midlands as a Quality Graduate.

My client is a privately owned food manufacturing company based in Leicestershire employing over one hundred employees.

They supply short shelf-life products to the retail, foodservice and business-to-business customers throughout the UK.

They are looking to expand their technical team by taking on a Technical / Quality Graduate.

Reporting into the Technical Manager you will work with the business to promote and implement best practice in relation to food safety and quality.

You will be supported by a large technical team on site.

Day-to-day you will be trained to conduct audits, and ensure the correct paperwork is documented to ensure compliance with regulatory, ISO9001 and internal quality standards. You will record corrective actions and preventative measures and work with the relevant department to implement them.

You will assist in implementing and maintaining the company’s quality management system, provide support during external audits and drive continuous improvement within the organisation.

In order to apply for this role, you will need to have a food science / food microbiology / food technology degree and ideally a year’s industry placement as part of your degree or a summer placement within a food manufacturer. Due to the semi-rural nature of this business, you will need to have a driving licence and car.

This role is offering a salary of £26,000 – £28,000 dependant on experience.

There are 28 days holiday which increase with length of service, a contributory pension scheme, an on site canteen and free parking.

This is a business which tries to help the environment as much as possible in the way that they operate, for example they create biogas as a by-product of production which more or less make them self -sufficient in energy.
