Job title: Child SEN Support Worker
Location: Thurrock/Grays
Setting: Mainstream Secondary School
Pay: £90.00 - £100.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Start date: Immediate Start
Duration: Long term with the view to go permanent
Active Recruitment are working closely with an Outstanding mainstream Secondary school in Thurrock, who are looking for a Child SEN Support Worker to provide on-going care and Support to children of a Secondary age range with complex learning needs, within their on-site SEN provision. This is a highly reputable, well-resourced school with excellent teaching spaces. They are ideally looking for someone with similar experience who is confident in providing a high level of support to individuals with Autism and Behavioural Needs.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Child SEN Support Worker:
* Liaise with the SENCO/Inclusion manager to deliver SEN provision
* Developing social/emotional skills (depending on individual need)
* Providing targeted support outside of the classroom
* To provide physical and communication support using modes of communication appropriate to the individual needs of the child
* Provide communication support to enable full access to the curriculum and any extra curricula activities e.g. lessons, assemblies, parents’ evenings, reviews and visits
* Supporting individuals and groups of students in class with additional needs under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
* Helping to plan and organise learning activities for students being supported
