ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an established Senior National Account Manager to join a vibrant and growing business based Manchester. Due to continued success, this role has been newly created to help with my client's development into the grocery/discount sector as well as nurturing existing established clients. The successful National Account Manager will play a pivotal role in developing new and expanding existing business relationships. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets, establish brand visibility, and promote our products on a national scale. Your ability to effectively manage key accounts, collaborate cross-functionally, and stay attuned to market trends will be critical to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing retail accounts, acting as the primary point of contact. Understand their unique needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored solutions that drive mutual growth.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within the grocery/discount retail sector. Prospect and onboard new accounts by presenting the product portfolio, value propositions, and differentiation in the market.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with overall company objectives. Define sales targets, promotional strategies, and collaborative initiatives to enhance market presence and revenue.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and promotional programs to ensure profitable and sustainable partnerships. Manage contract agreements and terms with a keen eye on compliance and consistency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align on product launches, marketing campaigns, and inventory management. Provide insights from the market to influence product roadmap decisions.
- Market Insights: Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences within Homeware, Furniture & Home Decor space. Leverage this knowledge to develop informed strategies and recommendations.
- Sales Analysis and Reporting: Monitor sales performance, track progress against targets, and generate regular reports for internal stakeholders. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.
- Travel: Engage in frequent travel to meet with key accounts, attend industry trade shows, and participate in relevant events to enhance brand visibility and foster relationships.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for an existing National Account Manager with existing relationships and experience of working within the retail sector. Experience with accounts such as Next, Argos, Very, Dunelm etc are key to this role. Additional experience with Grocery/Discount retail would be hugely preferential. Category experience in Homeware, Furniture & Home Decor or similar is required. The role will be based in Manchester so ability to commute/attend the office is required. The frequency of this can be flexible for someone with the right experience coming from further afield
