Job Description
Role Summary : The Head of PMO is responsible for establishing, leading, and managing the Project Management Office to ensure the successful delivery of strategic projects and programs. This role focuses on creating project governance frameworks, aligning projects with organizational strategy, and providing guidance on best practices in project and portfolio management. The Head of PMO will monitor project health, and provide high-level reports to senior executives. Key Responsibilities : 1. PMO Strategy and Leadership : - Define the vision, strategy, and objectives of the PMO aligned with the organization's strategic goals. - Establish a project management framework, governance policies, and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency across all projects. - Lead the transition to new project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) as per business needs. - Develop and maintain the organization's project management maturity model, driving continuous improvement initiatives. 2. Improve project management : - Define key practices that are best suited for Sureminds Solutions. Adapt best practices from the industry that are relevant to Sureminds Solutions. - Drive a culture of decision making based on quantitative analysis - Drive continuous improvement based on causal analysis of past performance 3. Governance : - Develop and implement governance frameworks to enable best visibility of projects all the way up to the CxO - Establish and maintain project health metrics (KPI tracking) for schedule, budget, scope, and risks. - Oversee the change management and risk escalation processes. - Ensure proper risk mitigation strategies are in place and regularly reviewed. 4. Reporting and Communication : - Provide regular portfolio performance reports and dashboards to senior management. - Conduct executive-level presentations on project health, risk status, and strategic initiatives. - Establish a communication framework to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.5. Customer Satisfaction - Drive customer satisfaction surveys on key milestones of projects as well as for the whole organization annually - Drive CSAT analysis and improvement actions Qualifications and Skills : Required Qualifications : - 10-15 years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. - Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects and portfolios. - Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (MS Project, Jira, or equivalent). Preferred Qualifications : - PMP, PRINCE2, or PgMP certification is highly desirable. - Experience leading a PMO in industries such as IT, financial services, construction, or consulting. - Familiarity with change management methodologies. Key Skills : - Strategic thinking with the ability to align projects with business goals. - Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills. - Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. - Proficiency in project management tools and software. - Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement. KPIs and Success Measures : - Percentage of projects completed on time, within budget, and scope. - Improvement in Customer Satisfaction - Improvement in project management maturity levels within the organization. - Stakeholder satisfaction scores and feedback.
