Job Description
Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled Private Cloud Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of our private cloud infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and security. The candidate should have a strong understanding of cloud technologies, virtualization, and experience with scripting and automation tools, along with the ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities : - Provide support for private cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and network components - Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to private cloud infrastructure, including performance and security-related issues - Participate in planning and implementation of Change in the infra and ensure flawless execution - Perform routine maintenance and updates to private cloud infrastructure - Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting and automation tools - Assist in the creation and implementation of backup and disaster recovery plans - Work collaboratively with other IT teams to ensure proper integration and functionality of private cloud systems with other IT systems - Develop and maintain documentation of private cloud infrastructure, including procedures and best practices - Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed - Provide customer service and technical support to internal and external clients Technical Skills : 1. Virtualization technologies : They should have a deep understanding of VMware virtualization technology and knowledge to efficiently manage virtual machines, virtual switches, and virtual networks. Troubleshooting Knowledge : a) Should have strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues quickly. b) Knowledge in installing and configuring all flavours of ESXi and vCenter Server c) Troubleshooting knowledge on ESXi and VCenter performance issues d) Troubleshooting knowledge in OneView Tool (Creating of Profiles, managing of hardware, etc.,), e) Troubleshooting knowledge in various server models like Blades(BL), ProLiant Density line (DL) etc., using various logs. f) Troubleshooting vSphere storage, plugin & vSphere networking issues g) Experience on configuring datastore to ESXi server using NFS, LUN and iSCSI. Create/extend NFS and SAN Datastores by coordinating with Storage team. h) Restore virtual machines from Datastore snapshots and Commvault backups. 2. Backup and Recovery : - Good Working knowledge on Commvault backup Tool, understanding of the Issues, troubleshooting skills and finding, documenting RCA. - Experienced in Windows and Unix/Linux server backup and restores including routine patching in a Commvault environment. - Knowledge in handling database backup and restores from/to VMs, such as MS SQL, MySql, Hana, DB2, Oracle - Knowledge in TCP/IP and SAN, NAS technologies. - Knowledgeable in Commvault auditing, command line operations, logging, and reporting. - Perform all chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks in a timely manner. Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation. - Ensure adherence to the published compliance frame work. Monitor by conducting periodic audits to ensure all compliance aspects are adhered to; Analyse and publish reports on the findings; discuss with the concerned stake holders and follow up on the closure. - To prepare business requirement documents for automation/enhancement of the Backup environment, lead pilot and testing efforts of a process rollout including preparation of training material and ensure that customer queries on a new process are responded to. - Good Document writing skills and SOP preparation. - Good Skills in Handling Incidents, Changes and Problem Management - To independently resolve tickets and ensure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team. - To provide support for on call escalations or L3 level support and doing incident and problem management - Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update and management, Training freshers, coaching analysts and conducting interviews or participation in hiring drives. - To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies - To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions or Reopen Cases. - Flexibility to work in 24\7 shifts 3. Storage : They should have experience working with storage technologies like SAN, NAS, and Object Storage. They should be familiar with RAID, iSCSI, NFS, etc. 4. Operating systems : They should be familiar with various operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Unix. They should have knowledge of system administration tasks, such as installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software. 6. Security : They should have knowledge of security concepts like access control, authentication, and encryption. They should be familiar with security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software. 7. Monitoring : They should be able to monitor system performance and identify issues before they become critical. They should be familiar with monitoring tools like Opsramp, Nagios, SolarWinds, etc 8. Understanding of database : MS-SQL, PostgreSQL is an added advantage. 9. Certifications : ITIL, VCP, Any foundation Cloud certification (ref:hirist.tech)
