Hours of Work: 37.5 per week, working Monday to Sunday

About the Role:
We are seeking a welcoming and professional Front of House Porter to be the first point of contact for our patients, visitors, and staff at King Edward VII’s Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will ensure a seamless, customer-focused experience by providing exceptional service, assisting with patient transportation, and maintaining a clean and organised front-of-house environment.

As a Front of House Porter, you’ll play a key role in upholding our high standards of hospitality and service.
Key duties:
- Customer Service: Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a warm, courteous attitude, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
- Patient Support: Assist in safely transporting patients within the hospital and helping them with personal belongings, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
- Environment Management: Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised front-of-house, including reception, waiting areas, and entrances. Report any maintenance or cleaning issues to the appropriate teams.
- Security & Safety: Monitor hospital access points, ensuring visitors follow security procedures and safety protocols. Assist during emergencies, including evacuations, and offer first aid support if needed.
- Administration: Support administrative tasks such as filing, sorting mail, managing patient documentation, and ensuring confidentiality.
- Communication Hub: Serve as a key liaison between patients, visitors, and hospital departments, facilitating clear communication and resolving issues as they arise.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Front of House and wider hospital teams to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities and contribute to a positive working environment.

- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally and empathetically with a wide range of people.
- Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a calm and organised approach in a busy environment.
- The role requires standing, walking, and lifting light to moderate loads, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, willing to support colleagues across all Front of House operations.
- A keen eye for cleanliness, organisation, and presentation, ensuring the front-of-house areas reflect the high standards of the hospital.
