Investigations Manager

Reports To: Head of Investigations

Location: London

Contract Length: 4 months


Role Purpose:

This role will play a key part in ensuring we do our business the right way ‘from grain to glass’, through ensuring that our Code of Conduct and Breach Management Standard are effectively upheld, through the effective conduct of investigations.


They will act as a subject matter expert on investigations matters, conducting investigations and identifying trends, controls failures or gaps, and provide timely and effective guidance to senior leaders and partners. They will support delivery of pro-active and fit for purpose investigations management via a network of investigators in market, providing advice, support, and training, to develop investigations capability.


Top Accountabilities

  1. They are personally responsible for the conduct of more sensitive/complex internal investigations that arise, to a high standard, ensuring alignment with regulatory and legal requirements, and working closely with other functions including Business Integrity, Global Audit and Risk, Global Business Operations, Digital & Technology, HR, Brand Protection. Making clear recommendations in concise written outputs and presenting conclusions to senior partners in an effective manner.
  2. Identifying relevant controls failures/gaps and recommending to the relevant business partners appropriate corrective measures, in order to prevent reoccurrence
  3. Support to Head of Investigations on various programmes/projects, including e-discovery and forensics, training and capability development.


1. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

The candidate will be an investigations professional with at least 10 years relevant experience.

Experience in conducting and leading sensitive investigations in a corporate environment is essential.

Excellent writing, presentation and speaking skills in English.

Expertise/experience in use of e-discovery tools in investigations, as well as other relevant technology.


2. Key Capabilities/Qualities:

  • Strong analytical capability; proven ability to determine compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and other relevant standards.
  • Ability to produce and present effective written/oral reports on complex investigations to senior executives and/or other senior stakeholders, ensuring that legal privilege is protected where necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. Builds effective relationships with partners.
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism – the role requires strong ethical values and a thorough understandingof Diageo’s values, standards, governance and controls.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organisation and to manage projects through and with geographically dispersed colleagues, and ability to lead through strong influence and interpersonal skills with a high level of cultural awareness, empathy and sensitivity.
  • Ability to deal with delicate situations and potentially conflicting priorities, while maintaining a diplomatic balance.
  • The role-holder must be able to travel internationally in the course of investigations (occasional).


As a temporary contractor, you'll be employed by our Managed Service Provider, Magnit Global, who manage most of our temporary contract hiring, you will not be employed by Diageo."
