Job Description
Seton Hill University seeks to fill the full-time position of Financial Aid Counselor. Chartered in 1918, Seton Hill University is a leading Catholic coeducational liberal arts university founded by the Sisters of Charity and embracing students of all faiths. The Financial Aid Counselor provides students and their families with financial aid-related services through activities including but not limited to giving presentations, counseling students about the financial aid process, awarding various aid programs, and educating students about the importance of good financial management. These initiatives will contribute to safeguarding Seton Hill University in compliance with financial aid-related regulations.
Required Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred; 3+ years experience in a financial aid and/or student services environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Commitment and ability to provide excellent customer service; excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and client support skills; working knowledge of Title IV and institutional financial aid processes and systems; ability to use technology and information systems to support work and develop data (Microsoft Office & Google Suite); thorough knowledge of available types of financial aid, scholarships, and general student eligibility criteria; use of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems, state, and university financial aid application processes; and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
