Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team in the fast-paced world of eCommerce within the beauty industry. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights to drive growth and profitability. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-energy environment and is passionate about the beauty sector.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and present accurate management accounts and financial statements and reports
* Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to create realistic budgets. Provide ongoing forecasts and variance analysis to compare budgeted vs actual performance. Recommend corrective actions based on financial trends and business developments.
* Oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations across multiple territories, maintaining adherence to eCommerce-specific regulations and tax requirements
* Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.
* Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and efficient audits.
* Identify and implement best practices for financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and scalability in the fast-evolving eCommerce landscape.
* Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modelling to assess the performance of various product lines and geographical markets.
* Identify financial risks associated with international operations and develop policies to mitigate these risks, particularly related to currency fluctuations and compliance.
Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified Accountant.
* Retail or E-Commerce background.
* Solid communicator and able to present information,
* Excellent attention to detail.
* M&A experience desirable
* Experience of working in a fast-paced SME environment.
