Assistant Surveyor / Estimator - Fit Out / Refurb

Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Estimator required for a busy construction refurbishment and fit-out contractor based in the West Midlands. This role is a 50/50 dual role between surveying and estimating - ideally, you will be comfortable managing commercial aspects of retail & commercial fit-out projects, values of £25,000 up to £250,000 albeit project can rise to £1million+.

Duties include:

* Take requests for projects, ensuring you fully understand client requirements.

* To create detailed quotations for clients.

* To interpret construction drawings and specification information.

* To complete tender documents.

* Carry out detailed onsite measurements.

* To develop the internal company pricing mechanisms.

* Monitor and analyse project expenditure.

* To correspond effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

* Nationwide site visits as required.

Essential skills for the role:

* At least 10 years estimating experience in the construction industry.

* Strong procurement and negotiation skills with both suppliers and subcontractors.

* Experience measuring with Bluebeam would be an advantage.

* Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize as required, at any one time.

* Skilled in modern IT, willing and able to learn the company processes and methods.

* Responsible, organized and a great communicator.

* Full UK driving license
