SENCO
Location: Derby
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £34,329 to £54369 per year
TeacherActive are currently recruiting for a SENCO for a mainstream secondary school in the Derby area, just outisde the city, for an immediate start. This SENCO role is a role that involves responsibility for the SEND provision within the school.
The role of SENCO has the following responsibilities:
Developing and implementing SEN policy: SENCOs are responsible for the strategic development of the school's SEN policy and provision. They also ensure that the policy is implemented on a day-to-day basis.
Identifying children with SEN: SENCOs support the identification of children with SEN and coordinate provision for them.
Liaising with parents: SENCOs liaise with parents of children with SEN.
Carrying out assessments: SENCOs carry out four-part cycle assessments of pupils with SEN.
Coordinating specific provisions: SENCOs coordinate specific provisions for individual pupils with SEN, including those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.
