Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Hours: Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate (pending DBS clearance)

About the Role:
As a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide the structure and support they need to succeed. Your main duties will include:
Working 1:1 or in small groups to support students with challenging behaviors and SEMH needs
Implementing individual behavior management plans in line with school policies
Building positive, supportive relationships with students to foster trust and cooperation
Supporting classroom teachers in delivering tailored learning experiences
Promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all students
About You:
This role requires someone who is patient, empathetic, and has experience working with young people exhibiting challenging behaviors. You will be:
Resilient, adaptable, and able to stay calm under pressure
Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing high-stress situations
A team player with strong communication skills, able to work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff
Passionate about supporting the social and emotional growth of young people
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working with challenging behaviors, ideally in an SEMH or SEN environment
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Enhanced DBS clearance (we will assist in applying)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications in areas such as Teaching Assistance, SEMH, or Behavior Support
Training in behavior management or de-escalation techniques (e.g., Team-Teach, MAPA)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
