What the role is all about: We're seeking a Lead Business Analyst (5-8 years experience) to join REA Cyber City. This role sits in the Media Team, within the Advertising portfolio. The Media team helps consumers share, rent, buy, sell and enjoy property, by connecting them with all sorts of products and services to help them along their property journey. This includes finance products, utilities, home services, furnishings, automotive and many more innovative advertising, lead generation tools and extension products. The fast-growing Media business includes a cross-functional team from Product, IT, Sales, Marketing, PR and Communications, HR, Finance and Legal. Were all about using digital solutions to make property and everything that supports consumers around property, simple, efficient and stress free. As a Lead BA, you will be responsible for defining and documenting detailed requirements with product management, ensuring they are well understood by delivery teams, and providing regular analysis and support of our growing system and product footprint. You will play a key role in the solution design and delivery of products and services in a collaborative team environment using agile methods. The role requires full involvement, excellent communication and collaborative involvement through all stages of product development from concept, design and requirements through inception, specification, development, testing, release and retirement. While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include: Understanding complex business landscapes and clearly articulate business needs from a varied group of stakeholders Requirements gathering from product managers, tech leads and other business stakeholders and translating business needs into system or product requirements with clear, concise and testable user stories & process flows. Collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Delivery Leads, Developers and Quality Analysts in the production of solution designs and specifications and ultimately, working software; Ensuring that requirements are understood by delivery teams through story kick offs and constant communication using a variety of analysis and documentation techniques including the application of visualisation techniques to underpin joint understanding of processes and data; Conducting gap analysis to understand differences between as-is and to-be Media and AdTech systems. Identifying and communicating any requirement dependencies, issues or risks identified through the analysis process. Work closely with Delivery Lead and Engineering Manager running agile scrum ceremonies and producing agile artefacts. Contributing to the teams understanding and prioritisation during sprint planning meetings. Participating in estimation sessions by describing the requirements and clarifying any questions raised. Working closely with other squads across Consumer and Customer groups, and the wider business to shape the direction of the complete solution architecture. Using your analytical skills to support the teams activities including system integration, ad integration & feature builds, legacy migration activity, service delivery and system & customer production issues. Who were looking for: Developed ability to interpret business needs and guide the development of appropriate solutions. Understanding of system architecture and design as a foundation to build knowledge of the Media Customer products, services and core systems. Developed problem solving skills and ability to look at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to run workshops and to communicate effectively with Product Managers, Developers and other stakeholders across the organisation Experience using Agile and Lean methodologies Experience in gathering and developing detailed functional requirements and conducting systems analysis for front and back end applications Experience working in large organisations with complex and highly varied business functions. Ability to work productively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment Experience in JIRA & Trello and working with a team to define Epics, Features, User Stories, and tasks per business initiative at pace Experience documenting processes, frameworks and translating business needs into technical requirements. At least 5 years of experience in IT, with several years experience in a product development environment. Proven track record in developing detailed product specifications, requirements gathering and business analysis Proven track record in relevant projects, preferably in both waterfall and agile environments Relevant tertiary qualifications highly desirable What we offer: A hybrid and flexible approach to working.
