Join our dynamic legal team at Philip Morris France as a Legal Counsel based in Paris, La Defense. In this role, you’ll collaborate with our affiliate, regional, and Operating Center’s legal & compliance teams, as well as business colleagues, to provide high-quality, business-focused legal support.
Your expertise will help us drive our Smoke-Free Future vision, ensuring compliance with the law and company policies.
You’ll work closely with the Senior Counsel France to implement best practices and achieve departmental goals.
Partnering with various functions within Philip Morris France, you’ll help achieve business objectives in a consumer-centric and solution-oriented manner. You’ll be part of a dedicated team of three Legal Counsels, reporting directly to the Senior Counsel France.
YOUR 'DAY TO DAY'
- Deliver cutting-edge legal analysis and documents: Dive deep into complex areas such as marketing, sales, regulatory matters, and corporate law, providing innovative and precise legal insights that help to drive business success. Conduct risk assessments, draft agreements and key documents, present clear recommendations and ensure legal compliance.
- Collaborate closely with business teams: Partner with various business units to support their initiatives, helping to enable the achievement of strategic goals.
- Communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences: Speak in a straightforward and concise manner, tailoring the communication style to different audiences. Use legal design tools and integrated AI to clearly convey legal risks and propose practical solutions.
- Stay ahead of legal developments: Maintain a proactive approach to staying informed about the latest legal trends and changes. Attend both internal and external events to continuously enhance your knowledge.
- Engage in cross-functional project teams: Work alongside diverse subject matter experts on strategic projects contributing to the deployment of PMI’s smoke-free vision, ensuring that legal considerations are integrated into broader business strategies and decisions are compliant with relevant laws and company positions.
- Collaborate with international colleagues: Work with legal professionals and subject matter experts from around the globe on topics of common interest, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and best practices.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Law degree from a reputable French university.
- 5+ years of legal experience with a demonstrated in-depth understanding of regulatory and business law, including compliance and commercial matters in a well-regarded law firm or international business (ideally FMCG, Pharma or Retail), but candidates with less experience are welcome.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities while managing internal client expectations.
- Robust interpersonal, networking, public speaking, and writing skills, with the ability to act quickly, communicate effectively with diplomacy and respect.
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and extreme attention to details.
- Lead complex projects to successful completion efficiently and effectively.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
