We are currently working with a market leading privately owner main contractor who have been established for over 50 years.
The business has several sectors and look after construction, homes and investments. They mainly undertake residential, community, education and retirement living developments.
With a turnover in excess of £150 million, the company work on projects valuing between £10 million and £100+ million.
Project Examples:
* Large Mix Tenure residential development project including retail, £80M
* Affordable and Shared ownership residential project, £50M
* Residential and commercial project including open space landscaping, £45M
The Role – Quantity Surveyor
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll play an essential role in supporting our client’s quantity surveying team with accurate cost assessments, cost control, and contractual management.
Collaborating closely with experienced surveyors, architects, and project managers, you'll have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the intricate financial aspects of residential construction projects.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Assist senior quantity surveyors in reviewing project plans, specifications, and design details to determine accurate project requirements
* Contribute to the preparation of detailed cost estimates, analysing materials, labour, and subcontractor costs
* Participate in tender evaluations, subcontractor negotiations, and contract administration
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget and scope
* Assist in tracking project costs, variations, and ensuring accurate cost reporting
* Support the resolution of contractual issues and disputes
