INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT)

You will serve as an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the Information Technology Department of NAVAL FAC ENGR CMD EUROPE SW ASIA. Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes resolving end user requirements associated with voice, data, video, network services, and telecommunications media associated with current and emerging technologies. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes responding to telephone calls and e-mail requests for technical support; identifying, researching, and resolving customer technical problems. Oral Communication: Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes arranging/providing end-user training for all IT components for all applicable IT systems. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes providing technical oversight and identifying deficiencies and recommending, providing, and/or arranging for training. In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: Applying knowledge of and skills in applying IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices to troubleshoot, recover, adjust, modify, and improve IT systems; Developing new methods, approaches, and procedures to carry out difficult and complex IT assignments and issues; Supporting the management of software, software licenses, license servers, and associated network storage and network devices; Updating software portfolio records and software license management tools in accordance with policies, processes, and procedures.
