Job Description
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Winchester
Job Type: Full time
Salary: £12.90 P/H
Key Responsibilities:
Individual Support: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, assisting with their learning, social interaction, and personal development.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to implement personalized learning plans and strategies.
Classroom Assistance: Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and a conducive learning atmosphere.
Monitoring Progress: Observe and record students’ progress, reporting back to teachers and parents as required.
Adapt Resources: Modify classroom materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
Communication: Maintain open communication with students, parents, and other staff members regarding individual needs and progress.
Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to SEN.
Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training).
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting.
Understanding of various types of SEN and effective strategies for support.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing student needs.
