Yard Operative Apprenticeship - Newry

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Yard Operative within the team at our Newry Branch. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills that will equip them for a successful career within Haldane Fisher. A look into the Apprenticeship Scheme Working in a Customer facing, warehouse and yard environment, our apprentices will learn how a highly successful Builder's Merchant operation works, gaining practical skills and experience within a warehouse/yard environment. You will gain training and relevant licences to operate manual handling equipment, counterbalance/forklifts. During your apprenticeship, you will complete a Level 2 NVQ certificate in Warehousing & storage with the opportunity to move on to a Level 3. The training will be delivered in-branch by 21 Training and will entail some short classroom training sessions in addition to on-the-job training. As an Apprentice, you will spend time with the Operations Team and learn all aspects of the very varied job role including: Serve and advise customer including upselling Gain strong product knowledge Unload and store incoming goods. Pick and load customer orders. Assist Drivers with deliveries. Housekeeping in the Yard Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to. Skills for Success What do I need to apply? Is committed and passionate about providing excellent customer service Is a Team Player, with a positive 'Can Do' attitude Is Hard Working and willing to Learn Has a keen interest in Timber and Building Materials Ideally have GCSE English and Maths (Grades A-C) or equivalent but, if not, we will help you gain Essential Skills with your Warehousing & Storage qualification.
