As this is a Nights Based role your average start time would be 22:00pm working a 4 day week Sunday through to Wednesday.

Job purpose:

Our Night shift Warehouse Manager is a key role working with our Depot General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Night operation in the Depot; where you will lead teams of Supervisors, Night Loaders, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites in to smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer.

The Nightshift Warehouse Manager is fully accountable for the performance of the shift whilst proactively seeking ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency. You will ensure all resources including third party are managed, planned and controlled to achieve the agreed service levels. Our designate position is to further enhance the management support and leadership we can provide across our 24/7 operation.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for motivating your staff, problem solving on a day to day basis and operationally. Each Depot has challenges, but you'll have an experienced central team, senior Managers as well as peer mentorship to support you and your Supervisors; this support will enable you to meet your potential and grow your experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all areas of the night warehouse sortation in an efficient cost-effective manner.
  • Ensuring depot key KPI's are achieved e.g. sortation compliance, Vehicle Departure times etc
  • Budget Management to achieve the agreed service levels including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage, Agency usage.
  • Maintaining the health, safety and security of all employees and visitors.
  • To lead, coach and develop the supervisors on shift.
  • To adhere to the legal requirements of the ‘O' Licence.
  • All required MI reporting documentation is maintained to the required standard & on time.

Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • Transport knowledge, skills or experience including regulations
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Developing staff
  • Reporting and providing reports on SLA's & KPI's
  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels
