Job Description

Job Title:Warehouse Operative (Stock Controller)

Contract Type:Permanent, Part-time

Salary:£12,480.00 per annum

Contracted hours:

20 hours per week

Working Days:Monday to Friday

Shift Pattern: 4 Hour Shifts, 06:00 - 10:30 (30 minute break)

Role Details

In this role you will work as part of a team to contribute to maintaing our excellent service levels. You will manage and maintain stock integrity by ensuring all stocked lines are counted within the agreed timescale and all stock reporting is completed to a high standard.

Some responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensure all stock reporting is completed to a high standard.
  • Contribute to keeping the warehouse standards high.
  • Comply with all processes and procedures relating to food safety, health and safety, company polices and standards.
  • Contribute to a customer-oriented, solutions-focussed team culture.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure all stock processes are in line with company standards.
  • Ensuring the agreed PI schedule is maintained.

  • Accurately record all stock discrepancies.

  • Complete stock check in line with the managers requests.

  • Manage damaged goods and ensure these are recorded accurately and managed to mitigate loss, through repackaging, 'too good to go', allocating to staff sales, or preparation for charity.

  • Carry out routine date, quality control checks, special request stock counts and returns.

  • Root cause analysis of discrepancies through system interrogation.

  • To ensure the safe, accurate, and timely execution of customer returns.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and delivers an awesome customer experience to both internal and external customers.

  • To report all accidents and promote best practices in Health and Safety and contribute to ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, workers, and visitors on site

The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a stock control or warehouse role within the foodservice or wholesale industry.

  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and experience with temperature-controlled products.

  • Familiarity with stock management systems and inventory control processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make informed decisions regarding stock quality and safety.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and customer service.

  • Experience working in a cold-store environment and within a warehouse.

  • Stock integrity and stock control experience within a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
