About the Team
Finance Operations is part of the wider group Finance team, responsible for all transactional finance activities, including accounts payable and receivable, cash and bank administration, corporate and procurement cards and the corporate contracts that support colleagues across the whole HM Treasury Group.
About the Job
In this role, you will:
- Line Management of the Reconciliations function, people and processes, ensuring work is prioritised to business need and report on monthly Key Performance Indicators for both internal and Central Government requests.
- Completion and submission of the departmental Debt returns and the quarterly VAT returns for the HM Treasury Group.
- Transmit the daily BACs payment runs for supplier payments and provide support in approving payment runs in line with the monthly schedule provided by the Accounts Payable Manager.
- Maintain the groups Fixed Asset register, completing monthly reconciliation of the capital accounts and posting of depreciation costs.
- Administration of the groups bank accounts, actioning change requests with our in-house administration team, our banking provider and the Government Banking service.
Qualification:
AAT Level 3 – fully/part qualified or equivalent experience and prepared to study to fully qualified.
Ideally you will have experience in a transactional finance environment, enjoy working as part of a team and feel passionate about customer facing support. You will also approach issues in a positive and methodical manner, making the best use of available resources and considering value for money.

About You
The successful candidate will have the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships for effective management of service delivery and improvement. You will think creatively to solve complex problems whilst meeting the needs of the customer and the business. You’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of transactional and financial reporting standards and implementing process improvements. Lastly you will have experience of working with the Oracle ERP or similar financial system.
