Job Description
Role: Contract Junior Azure Platform Engineer
Day rate: upto £300 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract length: Immediate start until end of April 2025
Location: Remote working with occasional travel
We are working with our large scale organisation who require a Junior Azure Platform Engineer to help build their Data Platform, which will be an Azure-based data warehouse, centered around Snowflake. The role has been to setup and build out the Azure environment and setup Azure Data Factory pipelines to ingest data from a range of source systems into Snowflake. The client require support to provide hypercare for the infrastructure build and engineering support to build out Data Factory pipelines and support serving new use cases. You will be responsible for leading and managing the team of two additional engineers as part of the wider Data Services Team.
Skills and experience required
Azure Platform DevOps, Infrastructure Automation & deployment experience
Experience with Infrastructure as Code – Terraform
Solid working knowledge and understanding of any of the following Azure component: Azure networking (vnets, subnets, private endpoints) / Azure blob storage (containers, retention policies, file transfers) / Azure role assignments / Azure Key Vault / Managed identities
Experience with any of: Azure networking (network security groups, route tables) / Azure Data Factory / Azure App Configuration / Azure Container Apps, Azure Container Registry / Azure Front Door / Azure API Management / C# .NET experience
Any experience with the following SQL Server components: SQL Server databases (tables, stored procedures, views, TSQL syntax) / SSIS / SSRS
