Job Description

The Department of Surgery at Loma Linda University Health, located in Loma Linda, California, seeks to hire a full time Vascular Surgeon Chief at the associate or full professor level. The Division of Vascular Surgery is a comprehensive academic program including an integrated residency in vascular surgery, an independent fellowship program, opportunities for basic and clinical research, an active clinical service, and educational affiliations with a regional safety net facility and the Veterans Administration hospital in Loma Linda, California.

The faculty have access to angiography suites in both the Interventional Radiology and Cardiology laboratories and two hybrid operating rooms. The faculty also direct both inpatient and outpatient non-invasive vascular laboratories.

The selected candidate will provide strategic and operational direction that will lead to growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the vascular surgery division. Expected responsibilities include teaching, clinical care, both inpatient and outpatient, and research relating to vascular disease. This individual will work collaboratively with all faculty and administration members.

The Division of Vascular Surgery is one of seven divisions within the Department of Surgery. The Division Chief will be working in alignment with Loma Linda Department of Surgery Commitment to enable surgical faculty and trainees to reach their highest professional and academic potential while serving the Loma Linda University mission to make people whole. Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Degree; and be certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery. Candidates must show a history of leadership and administration experience relating to clinical and educational programs and successful research activities. The applicant must be able to obtain a California Medical License and a California Fluoroscopy Operator’s Permit before the start date. All candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $316,000 – $390,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
