Job Description:
Technical Services Specialist
The Technical Services Specialist provides 24/7 support for VIP screenings at Playa Vista, ensuring a consistent IMAX experience. This role involves maintaining and upgrading IMAX digital projection and audio equipment, working from home, and reporting to IMAX headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. When not occupied with VIP screenings, the specialist will support local Southern California theaters.
What you'll be doing
- Support VIP screenings at Playa Vista.
- Perform maintenance on IMAX equipment, mainly after business hours.
- Assist other local theaters when available.
- Maintain 100% uptime of IMAX theaters.
- Handle multi-million-dollar equipment in critical situations.
- Provide written reports and track parts exchanged.
- Be available for emergency service dispatches and short-notice VIP screenings.
- Respond to client communications promptly.
- Be available for extensive travel (approximately 50%) domestically and occasionally internationally.
- Minimum two years at a University, college, or technical school, or specialized training in engineering/electronics with a strong computer background, or significant job-related experience.
- Knowledge of audio systems, electronics, and specialized test equipment.
- Experience in electronics or computer repairs.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with common software and hardware.
- A valid driver's license and U.S. passport are required.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel extensively.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights.
Compensation:
65,259.00 - 70,000.00
