Job Description
As a Technical Reviewer II Product Certification (Food Equipment), you will conduct product review, evaluation, sample selection, witness testing and initial audits for a wide range of Food Equipment products and materials to the NSF/ANSI Standards for Food Equipment. The Technical Reviewer II is a key role in certification process and ensuring the quality of certification for clients. This role performs a wide range of technical, administrative and customer-related duties with varying complexity.

NSF provides expertise and accredited food services across the entire food value chain: from agriculture, animal welfare, aquaculture, dairy, and production through to processing, distribution, quality management, retail, and restaurants. Our certifications services cover the Global Food Safety Initiative, supplier assurance, foodservice equipment and nonfood compounds, and organic and Certified Transitional certification through Quality Assurance International (QAI). We also offer HACCP validation and inspection, label claims verification and certification, DNA and food package testing, and product and process development. Separately, we provide expert consulting, food safety training, and auditing in areas including food fraud and gap assessments, retail food safety, and brand standards.

As a Technical Reviewer II Product Certification (Food Equipment), you will conduct product review, evaluation, sample selection, witness testing and initial audits for a wide range of Food Equipment products and materials to the NSF/ANSI Standards for Food Equipment. The Technical Reviewer II is a key role in certification process and ensuring the quality of certification for clients. This role performs a wide range of technical, administrative and customer-related duties with varying complexity.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical reviews of products, client documentation, physical evaluations, sample selection for testing and test reports against established policies/guidelines/standards.
- Determines required follow-up for certification/non-certification (if applicable)
- Determines required compliance testing and evaluation; documents testing results as required for certification or registration services
- Performs quality assurance reviews of documentation/inspection reports/Test reports against established guidelines/standards; determines required follow-up for certification/non-certification (if applicable)
- Serve as mentor/trainer and provide technical support for Account Managers to improve technical understanding, competency, and application
- Contact clients to review findings and outstanding issues, and provide technical support by clarifying any technical requirements and issues as needed
- Create product summaries, findings and other certification documents
- Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with development and/or updating SOPs and/or client forms
- Represent NSF at industry events such as trade shows, conferences and meetings
- Actively participate in accreditation activities, as appropriate
- Conduct initial onsite audits, as assigned
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-5 years relevant experience
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated project and time management skills
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for client evaluations
- Customer service experience, preferred
- General knowledge of the food industry, preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with NSF/ANSI Standards for Food Equipment, preferred
- One (1) years related work experience in the Product Certification or Food Equipment Industry or working with NSF Standards, Preferred
