The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a part time Student worker to provide overall support to the Office of Education, Psychology Training Program, Academic Trainee Office and Medical Education. You must be a current UCLA Student and will provide general clerical and administrative support in this role. Duties can include:
- Data Entry
- Assist in event and meeting set up (AV /Tech Set up)
- Assist in collection of documents applicable to trainees.
- Assist in website maintenance.
- Filing, data entry, photocopying, and compilation of folders/documents.
- Maintain electronic files as requested.
- Sorting of mail and faxes.
- Deliveries and pickups across different campus offices.
- Assisting with maintaining supply inventory.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for special events.
- Answer and assist trainees and guests with questions and inquiries.
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks and assist with projects as requested/assigned.
- Assist during Internship Recruitment season. Assist with application processing, interviewer schedule availabilities, open houses, and faculty selection committee meetings (when we are back in the office.)
- Assist with ordering pagers, lab coats/scrubs, business cards, assign offices, phones, keys, passwords, door signs, printer hookups, mailboxes.
- Assist with alumni database maintenance.
- Other Duties Assigned
- Must be a current UCLA Student
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact appropriately and effectively with faculty, staff and trainees.
- Skill establishing priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Computer knowledge including but not limited to, creating documents in word, spreadsheets, Internet and database applications, sufficient to produce reports and correspondence, and to oversee web-site maintenance
- Skill working independently within a collaborative team environment and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and/or adapt to new systems.
- Ability to write clearly and effectively.
