In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. The Position
Provide & coordinate maintenance & services to the facility in a cost-effective manner. Works independently on projects of moderate complexity.

Essential Functions
Assists in management & execution of contracts for services while improving valueMaintains the facility & responds timely to building maintenance requestsResponsible for physical condition of building & groundsResponsible for planning & performing work relating to general repair of buildings such as installing & relocating building or office fixtures & minor repairs to building, walls, floors, stairs, general carpentry, etc.Routinely audits building & parking lot cleanliness & maintenanceMay provide training, direction, and mentoring to team members when neededParticipates with spill response & first aid teams in coordination with EHSUpdates Facility Management share-point site & recordsSupports execution of shipping, receiving & non-GMP warehouse tasks as neededProvides back up support for waste management & fire protection systemsFollows all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMay consider and associate’s degree in engineering, Business, Planning, or a relevant field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar field requiredMinimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar field requiredBuilding maintenance experience requiredKnowledge of security systems preferredBasic knowledge of OSHA regulations preferredParticipation in emergency response teams preferredPharmaceutical experience preferredGood communication & writing skills preferredWorking knowledge of fire detection/suppression/prevention systems preferredValid driver’s license & ability to drive box truck for movement of materials between NN sites preferredDemonstrated ability to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets preferred
