Posting Details Position Number: 20240586T Position Title: Interim Theatre Production Manager Position Type: Temp/Intern Location: Villanova, PA Work Schedule: temporary Approximate Number of Hours per Week: 35 Department: 146-Theatre Position Summary: The Interim Production Manager works closely with the Villanova Theatre Department’s (VTD) Artistic Director and by extension VTD Chair and directly oversees the VTD theatre production department. Responsibilities include authoring, directing, and executing VTD’s operational and strategic plan regarding theatrical presentations, production-related student learning objectives, and the artistic and pedagogical vision for productions and studio work. The individual ensures efficient and professional operations of VTD productions, maintains production dates, budgets, and coordinates production communications and logistics. Responsibilities: Directly oversee VTD theatre production department; author, direct, and execute VTD’s operational and strategic production plan. Ensure efficient, professional, and safe operations of VTD productions; calendar/maintain production dates; budget, forecast, and administer production budgets. Supervise directly Costume Shop Manager, Technical Director, Production Designers, Production Creative Artists, Props Coordinator, Stage Management Consultant, Production Technicians, and Assistant Production Manager. Negotiate over-hire contracts; facilitate production design meetings and deadline adherence; coordinate VTD booking requests for the Mullen Center spaces. Supervise tech week, previews, and openings. Minimum Qualifications: B.A. required. Five (5) years professional theatre production experience. Excellent communication skills within an academic environment. Preferred Qualifications: Academic theatre experience preferred. M.F.A., M.B.A./M.P.A., or M.A. in Theatre preferred. Physical Requirements: Technical Rehearsals will fall outside of the typical 9-5 workday and will take place over weekends.
