Housing Officer - TA Lettings Officer - Birmingham City Council - Local Authority

Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking to recruit some experienced Housing Officers to join the TA Lettings team. Your new role
As a Temporary Accomodation Lettings Officer you will be responsible for delivering a responsive and customer focused temporary accommodation (TA) tenancy support service that enables customers to sustain their TA tenancy and successfully move on into suitable secured accommodation. You will be out on the road between 10am - 2pm conducting TA floating visits to assess welfare, Health & Safety checks and complete a housing benefit form with the tenant. Outside of these hours you will be back at the office writing up your findings and doing any additional admin duties.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be IT literate, as this role is system based, you will also need access to your own vehicle, hold a valid UK driving licence and be open to adding business insurance to your insurance policy. A further requirement is a background in Social Housing – this could be a housing officer, neighbourhood officer, homelessness officer etc. You will need knowledge of HHSRS, Legislation and Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act. These roles will be an ASAP start once compliant. Before starting, you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks. What you'll get in return
These roles are full-time, temporary roles based in Birmingham. Usually it is a 3-month ongoing contract with a high likelihood of long-term extensions. This position in particular offers a pay rate of £13.45 premium (£12 basic) per hour for the first 13 weeks, then an uplift to £13.20 basic per hour + holiday allowance which takes the overall hourly accrual to £14.79 per hour.
