Data Protection Officer / Qualified Lawyer - Telecoms - 6- 9 month contract

Location: Reading (Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in the office)

Role falls inside IR35


Are you a qualified solicitor with a strong background in data protection within regulated industries? We are partnering with a leading telecoms company to find an experienced Data Protection Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance with data protection laws, managing risk, and protecting sensitive customer data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the company’s data protection strategy, ensuring full compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Advise senior leadership on data protection issues and best practices.
  • Lead internal audits and assessments to monitor compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and stakeholders on all data protection matters.
  • Provide training and support across the business to maintain a culture of privacy and security.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor with experience in data protection and privacy law.
  • Strong understanding of the telecoms industry and regulatory landscape.
  • Proven track record in managing data protection in a complex, regulated environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
