I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Retailer in Nottingham for an Azure DevOps Lead to join an IT Data & Analytics Team.

The role will be predominantly responsible for the delivery of a greenfield analytical environment hosted on Microsoft Azure.

The role holder must have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft’s solutions in this space. Familiar working with delivery pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps for infrastructure as a code in cloud-based deployments.

The successful candidate will be a hands on Team Leader of the DevOps Team within the IT Data & Analytics Team. The role will be predominantly responsible for the delivery of a cloud (MS Azure) technical platform. Managing a small team made up of on shore, off shore and 3rd party cloud and DevOps engineers.

• Establish DevOps function and Ways of Working
• Implement / evolve deployment strategy
• Evolve formal processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
• Oversee the day to day running of a DevOps team
• Team Management
• Be “Front of House” for the team
• Coach and Mentor team
• Coordinating resources
• Task allocation
• Project and platform tasks
• Be the quality gate for software releases
• Standards and coding reviews

Skills

• Broad technical knowledge.
• Good understanding of data platform architectures
• ADO administration and setup
• Deployment pipelines and infrastructure
• Previous development experience essential (multiple languages)
• Minimum 3 years Azure experience- Azure DevOps, Databricks, Azure build pipelines..
• Collaborative working with internal and external teams
• Excellent communicator both written and verbally
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience (Performance, Scalability, Reliability)

The organisation is located in Nottingham, you’d be required to be onsite 5 days per week

This is a 3 month contract initially and likely to be extended 12 months +

The role falls inside IR35 so you’d need to work via an umbrella company
