Job Description
Teaching Personnel is looking for a passionate, driven and empathetic SEMH Tutor to join a special provision in Trowbridge. This provision empowers young minds to reach their full potential and thrive in an ever changing world.
Your purpose will be to provide 1:1 support to students 16+, encouraging engagement and working towards their individualised objectives as well as supporting their emotional wellbeing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To plan and deliver an inspiring curriculum that enables all pupils to make good progress; ensuring all learning builds towards a defined end point.
To set clear targets for pupils learning, building on prior attainment
To enable all pupils to understand key concepts, effectively / checking understanding and correcting misunderstandings.
To assess pupil work and progress giving regular feedback.
To maintain a stimulating, engaging and safe learning environment that allows pupils to focus on learning.
To positively manage behaviour in line with the school policy.
To contribute to the wider life of the school, including whole-school routines, paperwork and duties.
To take responsibility for your own professional development and engage with performance management activities.
The successful educator will have one of the following experiences:
Working in a classroom, whether as a teacher, teaching assistant, or learning mentor.
Delivering 1:1 or small group sessions
Working with special educational needs including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities or emotional or behavioural difficulties.
Working in counselling, therapy or social work, especially with children and adolescents.
Managing challenging behaviour – may come from working in PRUs, alternative provision, or in mainstream schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
