ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER - POPULAR RETAIL VENUE - 38 HOUR CONTRACT - DAY SHIFTS ONLY - PREMANENT POSITION - CIRCA £30,000 - NEAR FERNDOWN

We are assisting in the recruitment of an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join this vey popular and busy venue, situated within a retail outlet.
This £3m+ venue trades during the day offering a variety of food from full breakfasts, pizza's, sandwiches and full meals, trading between 9 to 5, it has an exceptionally high footfall and can seat up to 350 people.
In addition, the venue also has a private function room for hire, which is managed by the restaurant team. Working very closely with the Restaurant Manager and deputising for them in their absence, you will:
* Control the day-to-day operations on the restaurant floor, ensuring that service runs smoothly throughout the day
* Manage a team of circa 80 team members across front and back of house
* Take control of recruitment, training and team development, handling any staffing issues as and when they arise
* Form part of the overall management team for the business, providing duty management responsibilities as required
* Deal with suppliers and ensure accurate stock control across the business
* Deal with guests, resolve any queries and complaints that could arise
* Look at potential growth streams, working with the Restaurant Manager to promote the business
* Plan and manage staffing requirements for the business, controlling costs and spend for the business
This role requires an experienced Restaurant operator who has gained experience within a busy restaurant environment. You will have managed good sized teams and
* Have excellent communication and engagement skills
* Be supportive, with a focus on team development and training
* Have a hands-on approach to customer service
* Be able to plan and manage teams in a professional manner
* Have gained experience in a high volume establishment

* A starting salary of circa £30,000 (doe) for a 38 hour contract
* Trading times of 9am to 5pm (so no late nights)
* Paid overtime
