Location: 12 Wykes Road, Exeter, EX1 2UG
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Likely permanent position (temporary may be considered)
Salary: Up to £38,000-£42,000 per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
* Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join a leading housing maintenance provider. The role involves domestic electrical testing, remedial, repair, and improvement works for fixed wiring installations. The ideal candidate will be flexible, agile, and committed to delivering high-quality work in line with relevant industry standards, health & safety regulations, and best practices.
Main Responsibilities:
* Undertake electrical safety and maintenance works, ensuring compliance with best practice and the latest regulations.
* Work flexibly across different trades and tasks as required, maintaining high levels of quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
* Operate ICT systems to efficiently update job details in real-time.
* Ensure all issued equipment (e.g., company vehicle, tools, plant) is well-maintained.
* Manage van stock and ensure timely replenishments.
* Contribute to continuous service improvement by suggesting ideas and processes to enhance work delivery.
* Mentor and support trainees and colleagues where applicable.
* Adhere to health and safety policies, including COSHH and PPE usage.
* Maintain tidy storage areas and vehicles, ensuring stock and equipment are in good working order.
* Ensure accurate completion of timesheets, material orders, and other financial protocols.
* Occasionally work outside normal hours as required.
Qualifications Required:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Installation
* City & Guilds 2382-18 BS7671:2018 18th Edition IEE Regulations
* AM2, 2391 (Testing & Inspection) or equivalent
* Full driving license and ability to drive company vehicle.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in domestic electrical installations, testing, and remedial work.
* Knowledge of current health & safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
