Yard Jockey (3rd Shift)

Job Summary:

A Yard Jockey (3rd shift) is responsible for efficiently transporting trailers or containers within a warehouse yard or distribution center.

Requirements:

• CDL Class A with valid medical card required.
• 2+ years proven experience driving a tractor-trailer or large truck preferred (Local & Yard Dog).
• Clean MVR record with no moving violations
• Able to operate electric lifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Flexible schedule, including ability to work on weekends, as needed
• Frequently carrying up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.

Essential Duties:

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle, such as a truck or tractor-trailer, to transport materials primarily within warehouse yard.
• Maintain precise records of trailer movements,track inventory, monitor efficiency, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Work with warehouse dock personnel to coordinate the timely movement of trailers to and from loading bays to maintain smooth operations.
• Perform damage control checks on items, scans, and contact Logistics Management about removing orders according to company policy.
• Perform and follow all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines, inspections of tractor/truck
• Loads and Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas using electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Adhere to delivery schedules and meet deadlines for timely and efficient distribution of goods.
• Communicate with warehouse personnel, dispatchers, and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or any other relevant information.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure.
• If needed, the yard jockey may need to travel within the NJ, NY & PA areas.
• All other duties as needed
