The Business Development Manager position is a key sales role within the TCS IOT&DE Business Unit in North America, responsible for executing sales and business development for Utilities Industries across Americas.
The associate will develop revenue-producing relationships with decision-making CxO level executives at targeted accounts / logos, as well as drive the sales cycle of all assigned / generated sales opportunities from initial prospect communication through contract execution.
The role is supported by Pre-Sales & Solution teams.
The candidate will develop strategy from related TCS core offerings and create potential Business Leads, Convert the deals into consistent and scalable revenue generated accounts.
We are in the midst of a period of rapid growth and are seeking an experienced Sales leader with deep Utilities domain experience in areas such as Transmission, Distribution, Generation, and Customer Experience.
Responsibilities:
This individual should be able to:
•Build opportunities, convert them into large engagements and deliver client engagements across all IOT&DE offerings and solutions. as well as help develop industry specific solutions for our Utility clients and prospects.
•Work with sales and account teams to build new product engineering business in certain verticals.
•Provide domain expertise to help shape the solutions, proposal creation and value articulation to customers.
•Carry out market analysis and lead business planning and strategic sales activities.
•Actively engage in the marketplace to drive awareness of our IoT & Engineering solutions with targeted clients - tradeshows, research-led thought leadership, client roadshows and workshops, etc.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 15 years of Sales with transformation experience in the North American Energy & Utility industry covering regulated and de-regulated markets
2. Must possess a good understanding of the IT landscape in domain areas such digital plant, customer service, asset performance management, renewable energy, grid modernization, and cyber security. including technology systems such as:
•AMI and Smart metering Geospatial Information Systems
•Field Force Mobility IT-OT Integration
•ADMS DERMS VPP and EV
•EAM and APM Connected Worker Solutions
•CIS/Customer Experience
Competencies
•Demonstrated experience effectively positioning and closing deals
•Strong experience in conducting client workshops and facilitating partner meetings
•Experience in reporting, documentation, presentation, and P&L data management
•Excellent communication & presentation skills (verbal and written)
•Demonstrated success in building and growing a portfolio in the related Industry
Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor's or master's degree preferred in related fields such as OT/IT, Engineering, Innovation, and or Business.
•Demonstrated experience in Sales and full client engagement lifecycle for a large firm (proposal through delivery and project expansion)
