Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant to support data collection, integration, coding, querying, and reporting within a public service environment. This role involves developing and maintaining systems that analyze various performance indicators, implementing predictive analytics, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and data-driven insights for organizational decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain systems for data collection, storage, and analysis from multiple sources.
• Create and manage dashboards and reports for key performance indicators (KPIs), including metrics such as recidivism rates, program effectiveness, staff turnover, and operational costs.
• Implement predictive analytics to identify trends and forecast future needs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on system integration projects, designing solutions that integrate complex datasets effectively.
• Provide regular updates, both orally and in writing, to key stakeholders and leadership.
• Research and model data in BI dashboards, particularly related to metrics on admissions and length of stay.
• Maintain data governance standards, implementing data quality and security best practices.
• Create and document data dictionaries, import scripts, table scripts, and stored procedures.
• Collaborate on data warehousing initiatives, including ETL processes, and integrate data from various sources into cloud platforms.
• Conduct testing and troubleshoot Power BI, ensuring robust security measures.
• Work with data analysts and engineers to develop and enforce data governance policies and data quality standards.
• Accommodate both regular and after-hours work as needed, documenting processes and training end-users.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar role.
• Proven expertise with Power BI, data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with predictive analytics, data modeling, and dashboard development for executive use.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (Python, R) for data analysis and automation.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as Informix and PostgreSQL, and experience with data warehousing technologies like BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.
• Additional Skills:
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for data privacy and security in public service.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with GitHub for version control.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with correctional or public safety systems is preferred.
