YOUR ROLE

As Head of Contracts, you will manage the team responsible for the delivery of the contractual service agreements for large scale offshore wind farm projects, to be operated across the EU HUB.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

  1. Define contracting strategy including specifying key milestones.
  2. Implement and supervise the required corrective and preventive maintenance activities to maintain/recover the assets availability/reliability either on your own or through contractors.
  3. Lead the review, optimization, and negotiation of contracts and act as escalation point of contact in commercial discussions.
  4. Support the gathering of risk and opportunities through Supplier meetings, as well as helping to manage issue escalations where necessary.
  5. Develop contracts governance, processes, reporting and control of contracts progress and status.
  6. Lead the O&M delivery of tender processes and coordinate all required internal stakeholders, as well as internal processes and approvals.
  7. Lead the drafting and negotiation of technical annexes, supported by the technical teams, providing the commercial view.
  8. Ensure alignment between different contracts to reduce contractual interface risk.
  9. Define, implement, and resource the appropriate organization structure for managing the delivery of the substantial contractual agreements.
  10. Identify and timely notify internal & external stakeholders of the contractual or commercial risks and impacts of any variations to the contract and subsequently the agreement of such variations with the Client.
  11. Manage and coordinate advice on key commercial risks under existing Service provider contracts.
  12. Manage claims, warranties, and variations with contractors.
  13. Provide key and strategic commercial advice, assessment, and recommendations to the business providing key knowledge, lessons learned and support to the substantial contracts throughout the whole lifecycle (development to decommissioning) to support the business plan delivery.
  14. Prepare recommendations on the management of key commercial risks, while considering the impact on interfaces across contracts and impact on program.
  15. Monitor and anticipate claims made by contractors under the contracts and be responsible for developing mitigation strategies in line with the contract terms.
  16. Analyze the key risks in new contracts and assist in providing recommendations for changes required to protect the interests of the project.
  17. Ensure Iberdrola best practices and processes are implemented and applied in contract management ensuring involvement and interfacing with key company functions such as Purchasing, Insurance, Financial, Legal, etc.

EXPERIENCE

You have an Engineering Degree level qualification and significant experience in leading tendering processes, contract negotiations, and detailed commercial delivery of contracts. You have proven ability to manage the negotiation of multiple contracts in competing timescales. You are flexible to travel regularly to attend meetings and work at different project sites in a number of countries throughout northern Europe, particularly Germany, France, Spain, and the UK.
