Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Location: Kenwood House, Hampstead, London, NW3 7JR
Salary: From £42,070 per annum / 36 hours per week / Permanent
Job type: Permanent
Ref: 15686
We have a rare opportunity to work at English Heritage's largest Food & Beverage operation as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Kenwood, the home of world-renowned art collections such as Vermeer, Rembrandt and Constable.
The cafes at Kenwood are a social hub for the community, serving 800,000 visitors who regularly frequent Hampstead Heath all year. The Brewhouse Cafe is the thriving hub of Hampstead Heath, open in the morning serving barista-made coffee, freshly baked pastries and cooked breakfasts, moving into home-cooked lunch service and afternoon tea and cakes. The smaller cafe, The Stewards' Room, is open for takeaway coffees, drinks and freshly made snacks. We also cater for bespoke events and look to grow this arm of the business steadily over the next few years.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exemplary service to every visitor, as well as focusing on the future development of the Food & Beverage offer in this truly spectacular setting.
We are looking for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, working 36 hours per week.
You will support the Food & Beverage Manager to manage our entire Food & Beverage operation. You will always consider how we can do it better, more efficiently, and how we can deliver an even tastier offer for our visitors.
What's more, as part of our charity bringing history to life, you'll be supported and encouraged to share your ideas, inspire others and make a difference to the way England's rich past is experienced.
As the Assistant Manager, you will support the team to ensure we are compliant and that every food and drink order is served with a smile. You will have excellent attention to detail, leading your team to provide exemplary customer service and ensuring the F&B outlets maintain the highest standard of presentation.
We are looking for a proactive and driven Food and Beverage professional who has gained experience in either a multi-food outlet site, heritage venue or the hospitality sector, and possesses strong IT skills.

- The opportunity to progress your career within the heritage sector
- Apprenticeship opportunities
- Subscriptions to professional bodies
- Free access to all English Heritage sites for you and up to 6 friends/family members
- 25% discount in our shops and cafes
- Enhanced Maternity/Paternity/Shared Parental leave
- Options to buy additional leave
- An inclusive working atmosphere where everyone from all backgrounds, religions and with different needs will be supported
- Opportunities to go to some of our great live music or history events
